NOWOSILK
– A New Product Introduces Itself
Lustrous like silk, but MOPP film, a fascinating combination of properties – not only for exclusive applications.
With our new film quality NOWOSILK we succeeded to create a monoaxially oriented polypropylene film with unusual characteristics. The typical distinguishing feature of this new film quality is the silky lustre surface gloss. According to customer's request, the surface appearance can be adapted with the two variants offered: NOWOSILK - T with the high gloss surface and NOWOSILK - K with the matt surface.
The micro structured surface in combination of the inherent rigidity of the film results in outstanding runability in the further converting processes like printing, laminating etc. An opacity greater than 85% makes a full surface white printing redundant. On both variants, the printing image results remarkable brilliant. Due to the smooth surface, also difficult multi-colour prints can be realised.
NOWOSILK is weldable with ultra sonic, whereby the application possibilities within the technical and decorative range are again extended. An additional advantage is the density below the conventional PP film, which increases the yield significantly. By the monoaxially orientation, the superb tensile properties in longitudinal direction are achieved as expected for a MOPP film.
The application of NOWOSILK is everywhere, where the special characteristics are required, e.g. in high class decoration ribbons, graphic applications, as banding tape for various bundles, for labelling of exclusive products and other printing applications.
The medium sized and innovative company in Siegsdorf/Germany is known in the industry since years as a worldwide leading manufacturer of monoaxially oriented films made from Polypropylene and other Polyolefins. Main applications are Strapping Tapes, Tear Tapes, Carry Handles and Release Liners.
The product portfolio is completed by several specialty films like e.g. for labels, banding and transfer printing as well as films for the sports equipment, loudspeakers and the photographic industry.
Well known are also NOWOFOL® 's fluoroplastic ETFE films which are marketed under the trade name NOWOFLON® ET. The application fields of this film is extremely versatile. It starts with roofing constructions for swimming pools, football stadiums, tennis halls, atria, jungle- and tropical halls in zoos etc., and continues in photovoltaic and solar installations, as well as the chemical and automotive industry.
